No money left to paint lines at estate exit

THE COUNCIL says there is no money in the kitty to paint white lines at the exit of Derham and Craoibhin Park in Balbriggan at the exit to the road from Market Green to the County Bridge.

Cllr Peadar O'Kelly (Lab) of Balbriggan Town Council requested the work but was told by Fingal County Council: ' There is currently no funding to provide road markings and signage at the location referred to. This location will be listed for consideration when funding becomes available.' Cllr O'Kelly said a number of cars were exiting onto the road without stopping and he blamed the lack of lining on the road while Cathaoirelach of Balbriggan Town Council, Cllr Larry Dunne (FG) said he understood the council had limited resources but this problem was a 'safety issue'. Balbriggan town manager, Ide de Bairtiseil said she would raise the issue again with council officials.
