New home for special school to be sourced

FINGAL COUNTY Council is working with the Department of Education to source a new home for St Michael's House Special School which currently is housed in Hacketstown in Skerries.

Cllr Ken Farrell (Lab) asked that the council work with the department to ' help source a suitable site for the building of a new sc3hool' for St Michael's House. The local authority confirmed it was working on the project and said: ' The council works proactively with the Department of Education and Skills on the provision of school sites across the county. 'An alternative site for St Michael's House Special School has been discussed at recent meetings and various options are currently being investigated. It is hoped that the matter can be brought to a speedy conclusion as a replacement School is included in the Department's Five Year Programme.
