Louise remembered at annual Barretstown picnic
Friends and family have once again remembered a young Portmarnock girl in a fitting way by raising money for Barretstown House.
The annual Louise Fitzpatrick Big Picnic took place in Malahide Castle and all money will once again go to Barretstown.
Louise was only 20 years old when she lost her battle with cancer in 2002 and having spent time in Barretstown herself, her friends felt it would be a fitting way to honour her.
And this year was no exception with family and friends heading to nearby Malahide Castle for the occasion,
Barretstown offers free, specially designed camps and programmes for children and their families living with a serious illness - supported behind the scenes by 24 hour on site medical and nursing care.
All of the children and families come to Barretstown free of charge. Everything, including accommodation, food and medical assistance are provided at no cost to the family.
Since it first opened it gates in 1994 they have brought the magic of Barretstown to over 30,000 campers.
