TIME travelling and bible stories was the unusual mix on offer in a very special summer camp run by the Swords Baptist Church.

The Swords Baptists Kids Club was a themed summer 'space academy' for more than 100 local children.

The action-packed, fast-moving holiday kids club was based on Scripture Union's Space Academy material, combining Bill and Ted's Time Machine Adventure with stories from the book of Daniel. It included games, crafts, music, drama and Bible stories!

Leader of the holiday club, Tim Burns, was pleased with the way the event went. He said: 'We had a fantastic week, and having sunshine helped! We learned about how God is always faithful to his children and how we can be sure he is in control.'

'Kids club was great, I learned lots about Jesus and the dramas were amazing,' said Daniel, who attended the River Valley club each morning.

To follow on from kids club, anyone in second to sixth class can join the church for more fun on Thursday afternoons in The Riasc Centre, Feltrim Road, Swords, from 4 p.m. to 5.15 p.m. for fun, games, stories, memory verses and songs.
