Karl picks up medal for dance

A STUDENT at Ardgillan College has returned from an international dance and performing arts festival in Paris with a silver medal around his neck.

Karl Harrison has recently returned from the International Festival of Dance and Performing Arts adorned with the medal for his efforts and his school is rightly proud of his achievements. Karl was a member of the dance crew that represented Ireland in the festival in Paris. He competed against thirty two countries including Japan, America, England and France to name a few. Karl's dance crew were performing in the senior street category and the crew also included adult dancers. The Ardgillan student is no stranger to dance and is a member of Back Street Dance Studios under the direction of Aimee Fitzpatrick. He has danced alongside Jedward at last year's Christmas Pantomime in Jedward and the Beanstalk. School Principal, Michael O'Leary said: 'Ardgillan College warmly congratulates Karl on his achievement. Karl is an excellent student and he is a great ambassador for the school. We are certain that he is a name to watch out for in the future.'
