It's Malahide's Got Talent time so put your name down!

2013 MAY BE only a fortnight old but the hardworking members of Malahide Musical and Dramatic Society are already busy organising and preparing for a number of important events.

First up is the is the return of the Malahide's Got Talent competition with auditions taking place this Saturday, January 19. It costs €5 to audition and is open to anyone aged 18 and under. The successful contestants will go through to the grand final, which will take place on Sunday, March 3, in the Grand Hotel, Malahide. Once again all proceeds raised will go towards staging the group's musical next month. Those interested should contact or phone 0863758196.

Members are also busy rehearsing for its annual musical which this year is 'Crazy for You', featuring the music of George Gershwin with songs such as I've Got Rhythm, Someone To Watch Over Me, Slap That Bass, Tonight's The Night. The ticket booking line is open. Email or phone 0863758196.

Tickets cost €15, concessions are available Tuesday and Saturday only. There is also a €40 family ticket for two adults and two children, or a group rate of €10 on bookings of 10 or more. The show will be staged at Malahide Community School from February 12 to 16 at 8pm The society held a Christmas raffle, with the winners drawn in Duffy's just before the festive break. A total of €1,550 was raised. The winner of the iPad was Tom Grehan. Runner-up was Caitriona Connolly, who received a weekend for two in Carton House Hotel. In third place and fourth place were Lisa Fitzsimons and Joanne Donnolly, who both won a €100 restaurant voucher.
