THE VILLAGE of Garristown is gearing up to host its second annual Windmill Run.

The run, which has two routes, a 5km and a 10km, will raise funds for two charities – Crumlin Children's Hospital and St Francis Hospice.

Training is currently taking place each Sunday morning with participants meeting at the community centre in the village at 10 a.m.

Places are filling up fast with on-line registration €15 for the 10km run, which is chipped and €10 for the 5km run, which is not chipped. Those who register online will receive a t-shirt on the day.

Local businesses have come on board by sponsoring kilometres along the routes and sponsoring advertising spaces on the t-shirts.

Runners and walkers alike can register online at or register on the day of the run from 12 p.m. to 12.45 p.m..
