FINGAL County Council has vowed to continue working closely with the award-winning Tidy Towns group in Skerries as it seeks to retain its crown as both Fingal and Dublin's tidiest town.
Cllr JP Browne (FG) had called for the local authority to assit the group given the amount of work its undertakes given that there are new boundaries in place this year.
Fingal County Council will continue to liaise and work with Skerries Tidy Towns to assist in the excellent work that is carried out by this magnificent voluntary group, a report to Cllr Browne stated.
'Skerries Tidy Towns have prepared a three year plan and as a result of the regular meetings that are held between Skerries Tidy Towns and the Operations Department of Fingal County Council many of the proposals on the plan have already been carried out.
'We recognise the hugen voluntary contribution that is made by Skerries Tidy Towns and will continue to work together with them to hopefully achieve the National Tidy Towns Award,' it concluded.
