Focus on options for volunteering

EXCITING VOLUNTEER opportunities in Fingal were highlighted at a special event last year aimed at boosting the resources of hardworking groups that provide invaluable work in local communities.

All roads led to the Pavilions Shopping Centre in Swords last weekend for the second Fingal Volunteer Expo which featured some 16 local organisations who are currently seeking people to join them this autumn. Organised by the Fingal Volunteer Centre, which provides a wide range of supports to volunteer-involving organisations, the event last week is aimed at attracting people who are interesting in helping local groups. ' This was a great opportunity for organisations to showcase their volunteer opportunities, let the community know about the work you do, network with other organisations, and get to engage with Fingal Volunteer Centre and develop new opportunities,' said Stuart Garland, Manager Fingal Volunteer Centre. Fingal Volunteer Centre is a one stop shop for voluntary activity, providing volunteering opportunities for the public, sourcing much needed volunteers for organisations and providing support for organisations in managing volunteers. It is funded by the Department of Environment, Community & Local Government, Fingal County Council, Blanchardstown Area Partnership and Fingal Leader Partnership. For further information contact
