Energy grants approved for 17 Fingal businesses and groups
Grants of €653,000 for 17 Better Energy Community projects have been approved on a total investment of €1.62m in the Fingal area, according to Senator James Reilly
Senator Reilly said: 'I welcome the grants to local community groups and business to encourage and assist sustainable energy consumption and reduction in energy.
'I note Keeling Fruit Farms, North County Cricket Club, Portmarnock Leisure Club, Sportslink Santry, Moriartys Supervalu Skerries, Bracken Court Hotel Balbriggan, and DAA Dublin Airport Authority have been successful in applying and receiving grant aid under this excellent scheme.'
The Fingal senator added: 'I would encourage more community groups to engage in this process and avail of grants as they become available.'
Denis Naughten T.D. Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment announced that grant funding of €26 million nationally has been approved for 44 community energy projects across Ireland, including those mentioned by Senator Reilly in Fingal.
This year's funding will provide for energy efficiency upgrades to more than 2,013 homes, and a further 479 community, public and commercial facilities. The projects include a wide range of upgrades to fabric (insulation), heating systems, lighting and solar heating. The total investment in energy efficiency is almost €67 million, supporting over 1,000 jobs.
