THE COUNCIL says it is open to meeting with local traders about their request to have additional litter bins on the streets of Donabate but said its capacity to supply new bins anywhere in the county is ' limited'.
Cllr Gerry McGuire asked the council to 'meet with local traders in Donabate who are anxious to have additional litter bins provided in the village and are willing to make a contribution to same if required'. The council responded, saying: ' The Balbriggan/ Operations Unit is willing to meet with local traders in relation to the matter of litter bins in the town. It should be noted however that funding for the provision of new litter bins in the entire county is limited.'
