STUDENTS FROM Fingal Community College have shown their creative sides to the wider public as part of a stunning exhibition. The fabulous display featured art, craft and design projects submitted by student in their 2012 State exams.
This exhibition was curated by the Transition Year students and their Art and Home Economics teachers Ms Lynch and Ms Hearun. The exhibition consisted of work from Art, Home Economics, Metalwork and Woodwork and given the high standard on display, it is hardly surprising that they achieved excellent results in their exams.
Local primary schools paid a visit to the exhibition that was held in the school hall, accompanied by their teachers, giving them a flavour of the subjects that will be on offer to them when they start secondary school. Later in the daym, the exhibition was officially opened by Fingal County Council's Arts Education officer Julie Clarke. The exhibition was attended by parents, students, teachers and local businesses. Sponsors included Philip O'Neill Photography, Pat O'Farrell Schoolwear, Woodgrey Ltd , Elliott Engineering and The Hot Spot Cafe, Lusk. The winners were Donna Fogarty for Art, Kyle Maguire for Woodwork, Damien McGlynn for Metalwork and Megan McKeown for Home Economics Craft.
