The medalists from the club included Alex Fogarty, Jenny Lehane, Maeve Magee, Katie Moriarty, Ann Marie Tornsey, Sarah Lehane, Fiona Gallagher Payet, Rostick Ivanchuk, Sean Paul O'Halloran, Luke McGrath and Eoin Clifford. For more than two decades, the River Valley Community Centre has been the Dojang' - the training ground for students of the Korean martial art of Taekwon-Do. The club was established by Stephen Cooley ( VI Degree) in 1989 and since then, more than 100 international fighters have been nurtured and trained there. 'It takes commitment and perseverance to get to the top level so the enthusiasm of family is crucial to our endurance,' said Stephen. ' That, along with the strong support we get from the community, is what the club is built on – and we couldn't really have asked for stronger foundations than here in River Valley.'
