CÓMHALTAS - BALBRIGGAN branch of Cómhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann weekly tin whistle and dancing classes have resumed for the new season and will run each Wednesday in Glebe North FC, Clubhouse Market Green, Balbriggan. Tin whistle from 7pm - 8.30pm and adult dancing from 8.30 - 10.00 p.m. All are welcome to come along.


The Garda Band will be in attendance on Friday next , at the Balbriggan Fish & Farmers Market, which runs at the Square, Balbriggan 10a.m. until 3p.m. The market on the 21st may be the last market for the season (subject to the availability of local fresh produce). It is planned to carry out a survey of general opinions of the market on the day to assess what improvements could be made for 2013. Music usic and Dance Classes have started back in the Clubhouse, Bremore, Balbriggan. Juvenile & Adult set dancing classes run on Monday nights. Details of Tin whistle & fiddle classes will follow later in the month. For further information please contact Freda at 086-3249476


A White Collar Boxing Contest will take place between O'Dwyers GAA Club and Balbriggan Rugby Club on Friday, November 2nd in The Wright Venue, Swords. Volunteer participants are required and if you would like to take part please contact 085-1173361for further information.


There is Bingo every Wednesday Night at 8.45p.m. in O'Dwyers GAA Clubhouse, Bremore, Balbriggan, where Great Prizes can be won. Everyone is welcome to come along.


Balbriggan Senior Citizens Group next monthly social will be held in the Senior Citizens Hall, High Street on Sunday 30th September commencing at 4.00 p.m. All seniors 60 and over are welcome to come along. Balbriggan Senior Citizens Group invite all senior citizens over the age of 60 to drop-in to the Senior Citizens Hall, High Street, any weekday morning from 10.00 a.m. - 12 Noon for a chat, cup of tea, read the papers, watch television or enjoy any of the activities taking place in the centre. Balbriggan Senior Citizens Group weekly Bingo sessions take place on Tuesdays in the Senior Citizens Hall at 8.30 p.m. You do not have to be a senior citizen to attend the Bingo.


Balbriggan Community College extends an invitation to everyone to come along to their Open Evening at the College on Thursday the 20th September for 5th and 6th Class students and their parents or guardians. The Evening starts at 7.30 p.m. and will run until 9.00 p.m. Please note that students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.


Presented by Balbriggan Community Policing Forum together with the support of some 17 other Local Community Organisations continues up to Saturday. While the main focus of this year's Safety Week is drug and alcohol awareness there is a full and informative programme of 15 events and demonstrations of interest to all members of the community regarding their personal and property security and safety needs.
