Two Irish language conversation groups meet weekly in Balbriggan; one at 12.30 each Thursday and the other at 8pm each Friday, both in the Bracken Court Hotel.

Both come under the title, ‘Gaeilge gan strus’, or Irish without stress. We welcome anyone with any Irish. You don't have to be a fluent Gaeilgeor to attend and the whole purpose of these meetings is to encourage people to use their Irish in a social setting. The idea of the Friday night conversation circle grew out of beginners class which is also held on Friday nights at 9.30pm.

Aerobics, step and body-shaping classes continue every Tuesday and Thursday in the Glebe North FC, Market Green, Balbriggan from 7.30pm to 8.30pm. It’s an eight-week programme and everybody gets weighed and measured. Nutritional advice will be given. For more information call Tanya at 087-2663203.

The new Gaelscoil Balbriggan committee is hosting an Oiche Culture and Ceol on Friday, April 21 in the Seamus Ennis Centre, Naul. The committee organised an Oiche Ceoil before Christmas and it was also a great success. here will be ceol, craic agus caint on the night in the Naul!

An independent Living Seminar for People with Disabilities takes place in Balbriggan in April. The Bracken Court Hotel is the venue on Monday, 24th April with the seminar running from 2-5pm and refreshments shall be provided. Admission is free.

The seminar will include talks on respite, assistive technology, the philosophy of independent living and making the transition to live independently. The seminar will be in partnership with F.A.D.E.
