THE COUNCIL has given another update on the progress of the long-awaited taking in charge of Holywell estate in Swords.

Prompted by a question on the issue from Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Cian O'Callaghan (Lab), the council reported on progress, saying: 'There has been ongoing correspondence and meetings between Fingal County Council and Albany Homes regarding Holywell Estate, where we are focusing the developer's attention to resolving the outstanding faults. 'The last meeting was on site on Tuesday, August 28, to discuss some of our drainage concerns.' The council added: 'In general, Albany Homes have always engaged in correspondence and after a slow start with rectifying the outstanding defects, we are making some real progress now. 'Items resolved during the summer months include confirmation that the surface water attenuation is designed to the 1:100 year event and work completed on service pipes. 'The outstanding issues that remain are general snagging, drainage issues and submission of all the information required for the taking in charge process.'
