LARGE crowds converged on Ardgillan Demesne at the weekend to participate in the Operation Transformation walk around the grounds.

The hardworking Balbriggan Roadrunners organised the event last Saturday and the dreadful weather conditions didn't deter great crowds of people turning out in the fun event.

The walk is organised as part of the RTE show Operation Transformation's drive to get Irish people to be more active and improve fitness levels.

The events, which run across the country, are supported by the Irish Sports Council.

Over 12,000 people took part in the national walks in 2013 which are a great way of promoting walking as a fun way to get and stay active.
