The annual Flavours of Fingal County Show returns for its second year and promises to combine the sights and sounds of a traditional agricultural show with an unforgettable food and family fun experience.

The livestock competition is now open for entries and competitors are encouraged to submit their entries by August 30.

The two-day event will take place at Newbridge House and Farm in Donabate on Saturday, September 14, and Sunday, September 15, and is organised by Fingal County Council in association with Fingal Farmers, Fingal Tourism, and Newbridge House and Farm.

The farm section will feature a program of livestock and sheep competitions, equestrian contests and other agricultural displays while the food producers section will feature an array of favourite local delights, cooking demos and all things food in Fingal.

Peter Counihan of Fingal Farmers said: 'We are very much looking forward to even a bigger and better competition element to the Flavours of Fingal County Show this year. The standard of entries last year was very high leaving us with high expectations for the competitors at this year's county show.

'With only a month away to the final deadline for entries, we encourage everyone to get their entries in as soon as they can to guarantee their spot at what promises to be a highly competitive show.'

Last year's winner of the cattle breeding competition William Smyth said: 'The Flavours of Fingal County Show was well organised and well attended. The event is an ideal day out in what is a stunning setting. We truly enjoyed the day and hope to see everyone again this year.'

The Flavours of Fingal County Show promises to be an unmissable experience celebrating Irish breeding and locally produced food from renowned producers.

To enter livestock to The Flavours of Fingal County Show, email applications to marketing@fingaltourism.ie or download an entry form online at www.flavoursoffingal.ie. Entries must be submitted by August 30.
