THE Balbriggan Public Realm Committee has announced that is taking on a task formerly carried out by Balbriggan Town Council, in handing out the town's annual awards.
The Town Awards were traditionally hosted by Balbriggan Town Council, which was abolished as institution, this year.
The awards have been a great success over the years and have had the support of the wider community and are now set to continue under the leadership of the Balbriggan Public Realm Committee.
The Balbriggan Town Awards provide an ideal opportunity for the community in Balbriggan to nominate people who deserve recognition of their achievements in the areas of Community, Sport, Art and Culture, and the future for the popular awards now seem safe, with the Balbriggan Public Realm Committee stepping in to take over.
The awards are aimed at recognising people who have represented the community on a national or international scale, people who provide support to others on a voluntary basis, charitable works, artistic achievement or sporting success.
The Balbriggan Town Awards 2014 will take place in the Bracken Court Hotel on Wednesday, November 19, 2014.
Nomination forms are available from the Fingal County Council Office in Balbriggan, Balbriggan Library, Balbriggan Tourist Office and local shops. Nomination forms can also be downloaded at fingal.ie or balbriggan.info.
Nomination forms must be returned no later than Wednesday, October 1 to Balbriggan Public Realm Committee c/o Fingal County Council Offices, George's Square, Balbriggan.
