Public can access newspapers online

LIBRARY users can now access over 2,000 newspapers from home and abroad as part a growing digital offering from Fingal Libraries.
Online newspaper portal Library Press Display has been introduced at libraries around the region and titles available include the Fingal Independent, Irish Independent, Belfast Telegraph, London Evening Standard and New York Post to name but a few.
Combined with the Press Reader App, library members can also avail of the service on hand held devices while on the go.
Senior Executive Librarian, Yvonne O'Brien, said: 'Fingal Libraries is committed to meeting the information needs of Fingal's citizens in the most accessible and cost effective way.
'We are expecting huge take up considering Fingal's diversity, as this new service allows users to keep up to date with what's happening both at home and around the world, 24/7,'
An easily accessible and user friendly service, it has the added attractions of optional translation of articles for those for whom English isn't the first language and it can read articles and enlarge text for those who are visually impaired. This new facility is free and is available to all members of Fingal libraries. Users can access the facility by logging on to www.fingal.ie/libraries and selecting eNewpapers.
Fingal Libraries other digital services include an eBook lending service with a growing catalogue of over 3,000 titles. Members can borrow 10 eBooks at any one time.
