THE long-awaited Liam Rodgers Community Centre for Kinsealy is due to open its doors in February of 2015, according to Fingal County Council.
The centre, which was the life's work of local campaigner, the late Liam Rodgers, is going through the tendering process at the moment, according to the council.
Cllr. Judy Dunne (Lab), asked for a progress report on the project and in response, the council's community department explained: 'The Liam Rodgers Committee were advised by the architects department at a recent meeting that the tender and evaluation process is scheduled to be completed by the end of February 2014 with a nine-month build.
'The centre is due to open in February 2015. The community development section has been working with the Melrose/Kinsealy Residents Association to develop a management structure for the Liam Rodgers Centre.
'Assistance will be provided to the committee around the area of corporate governance as well as the development of a business plan and operational plans for the new centre.'
