A BEAUTIFULLY presented thatched cottage on the Dublin Road has been singled out by Lusk Tidy Towns for special mention as the town prepares for another tilt at the national competition.

Lusk Tidy Towns always make sure to reward special efforts made in the village by business premises and homeowners in the town's annual efforts in the national competition and this year, Clay Cottage has caught the committee eye.

Pat Kelly from Lusk Tidy Towns said that Anthony Rogan's Clay Cottage was 'absolutely beautiful' and worthy of the committee special prize this year for a private home and garden.

'Lusk used to be full of thatched cottages and there are only four or five left now and this one is absolutely beautiful,' Ms. Kelly said.

The special award was presented to Anthony Rogan by Senator Darragh O'Brien, in special ceremony last week.

The Tidy Towns committee have been hard at work in the village as usual and are now looking forward to judging and eventually, the results of the national competition, which are due to be announced in September.
