FINGAL band, Delorentos are capping off an amazing year with a special Christmas gift for local fans as they take to Dublin venues for not one, not two, but three gigs in one day on December 21.
The three shows in one day music marathon will kick off with an intimate fully acoustic performance in Dublin's Unitarian Church on Stephen's Green in the late afternoon.
The band will then go and plug in the amps at Whelan's for a full-on electric gig that evening and they will follow that with a DJ set upstairs at the same venue, topping off a day to remember for the band and their legions of fans.
2013 has been a great year for the Delorentos, who scooped a Choice Music Prize for their third album, Little Sparks. A tour of America followed and they criss-crossed the rest of the globe, stopping off in Fingal for a triumphant homecoming gig at 'Home' in Balbriggan, where the Fingal Independent caught up with them.
The lads, who hail from the Portrane and Malahide, also played a gig for President Michael D Higgins during 2013, played a dream support slot for Bruce Springsteen and had a song feature in the new Richard Curtis movie.
Along with a sell-out gig in Vicar Street, 2013 has been a year to remember and the three gigs in one day on December 21 is a way of thanking local fans for their support.
2014 looks like it will be just as busy for the band with rumours reaching us that a new album could be on the way next year.
