Published 16/10/2012 | 11:09

MUSIC LOVERS in North County Dublin are in for a treat this Sunday when an afternoon recital takes place at St Andrew's Church in Malahide.

Names such as soprano Catrina Scullion, Rodney Baldwin on piano and Bjarke Gundersen on viola and violin will perform. The event starts at 3pm. Many people will have already heard Catrina, not only with Anúna with whom she sang for five years but also as a concert soloist in recitals throughout Ireland. Rodney Baldwin will be no stranger to audiences as a harpsichordist/pianist and musical director of both the Garda Ladies' Choir and St. Andrew's Malahide.

Since moving to North Dublin from his native Denmark four years ago, Bjarke Gundersen has established himself as a performer, teacher and conductor of the Young Dublin Sinfonia. Between them they have performed in fourteen different countries. The concert will last approximately an hour and will comprise works by Handel, Bach, Bizet, Caccini, Puccini, Dvorak, Brahms, Schumann, Swan and Michael Nyman. Admission is free.
