RUSH-BASED Rinceoil Fingal, which will celebrate its 20th anniverary next year, is set to resume its popular classes this week.
The group has big plans to celebrate this milestone in 2014, which will also be the 15th year it has held its annual Scoil Samhradh Chris Langan.
'This is a great achievement for a voluntary organisation especially in the financially trying times we live in,' said long-time member Lenny Martin. 'To carry on for so long requires a lot of behind-the-scenes work by a lot of dedicated people and we have been very lucky in that respect over the years.'
He added: 'It is also a fact that any organisation will not survive without the support of the ordinary members and there families and we have had great support from our membership, who come from all over Fingal, over the years. For this Rinceoil Fingal are very appreciative, and we hope to still going strong for a long number of years yet.'
The new term will begin on Tuesday in the Convent in Rush, with classes running from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. There will be a general music class from 8.30 to 9.30 p.m. when all instruments are welcome. Classes will be held in fiddle, whistle, bodhran, piano accordion and guitar, with all courses subject to numbers.
Information regarding the classes is on the website www.rinceoilfingal.com or available from Lenny Martin at (087) 6307324.
