THERE will be plenty of rhyming and even the odd cat in a hat in evidence on the stage at St Patrick's Boy's National School in Donabate as children from third to sixth classes delight audiences with the new school musical, 'The Story of Seuss'.
This year, the boys and staff of St. Patrick's Boys' National School, Donabate will present the musical, 'The Story of Seuss', based on the books of Dr. Seuss and preparations for the show are well underway.
You will be introduced to such characters as Gertrude, Cat in the Hat, Horton, Maisey, Sour Kangaroo, Bird People, The Whos, Jungle Citizens, Wickershams, Mr and Mrs Mayor, and Yurtle Turtle in this musical extravaganza.
All of the children from third class to sixth class are taking part in the production with singers, dancers, actors, prop and set designers all between the ages of eight and 12.
Principal of the school, Anne Marie Hennigan, said: 'I have been most impressed by the wonderful team effort and support coming from teachers, support staff and parents both individually and collectively through the Parents' Council.'
Dominic O'Hailmhich, director of Live, Laugh, Learn (www.livetolaughandlearn.com), and a speech and drama specialist, is working with the school to produce the show.
The show will be open for all to come and see from April 8 to April 10 and tickets are on sale in the school or by contacting 8436168.
Everyone is very excited about the musical and are looking forward to our opening night.
