Fundraising quiz for Bleeding Pig festival

A fundraising table quiz in aid of the Bleeding Pig Cultural Festival is taking place in Keeling's Donabate on Thursday, May 18 at 8.30pm.

Teams of four cost €40 and all proceeds go towards the running of the festival, which takes place from September 4 to 10.

There will be a three-day short film festival starting on September 4.

A Gala Concert with The Young Dublin Symphonia, The Lambay Singers, The Skerries Strummers and many more takes place on Friday, September 8.

Saturday, September 9 will be a day full of events catering to all tastes and ages with Kids on the Go Fitness for 2 -5 year olds, Púca Puppets will hold a shadow puppet making workshop..

Mol an Óige, a concert showcasing the young talent on the Donabate/Portrane peninsula, is also planned, while local artist Robert Shaw will give a painting workshop.

The Exploration Dome, a large pop up planetarium will be open for shows all day.

On the Saturday night, Donabate Golf Club will be the setting for a music and dance extravaganza called 'Shall We Dance' featuring The Blanchardstown Brass Band, Big Band sound from The City Gents, 60s and 70s music from Recall and the professional dancers from Viva School of Dance.

On Sunday, September 10m the popular Summer Miscellany will start the day.

An art, craft and photography exhibition gives local crafters the opportunity to display their work .

The historical walk and Talk in Portrane will include a sketch from 'The Fiddler and the Dean' performed in The Brook by members of Donabate Portrane Dramatic Society.
