Fingal's musical talent showcased

THE 15th annual Scoil Samhradh Chris Langan was yet another showcase of the wonderful musical talent that exists in the Fingal region.
The festival, which is held annually in June, is the start-off event for a summer summer of traditional music festivals all over the country.
The opening night saw a wonderful performance by members of Rinceoil Fingal at the Millbank Theatre which provided the perfect platform for them to display their undoubted talent.
The Saturday saw a day of music workshops at St Joseph's secondary school which saw members of the world famous trad group Kila give expert tuition to participants.
Members of Osna and Eoghan Scott, Aoife O'Connor, Mary Crowley, Jessie Smyth and traditional singer Rosie Stewart were also took workshops on the day.
Events moved to Rush Sailiing Club later that evening for a session mhor to celebrate Rinceoil Fingal's 20 year teaching and playing traditional music . Music was provided by local group Tumbleweed.
The weekend concluded with members of Rinceoil playing the music at 11. 30am mass in St. Maurs church Rush, in memory of deceased members of Rinceoil Fingal and there families.
