The exhibition, organised by Pauline Langan and Jean Lowndes of Swords Pride of Place committee, raised just over €600 for the church fund – which will go directly to the restoration works required to bring the 200 year old church back to its former glory.

Interior work is required on the church which was damaged due to water leaked into the church through the roof.

'We had a broad sweep of artists exhibiting their works at the exhibition,' said Canon Robert Deane.

'And we were delighted with the money raised, which will go towards the church's restoration fund.'

The exhibition, which had normally been held in the church for the past seven years, was held this time in The Meeting Room of St Columba's Parish Centre.

'We are most grateful to the very talented artists who have chosen to share their work with us. It is always a joy to view the glorious paintings and prints, and maybe, just maybe, we will see it being held back in St Columba's Church again,' added Canon Deane.
