The countdown is well and truly on for the second annual Dragon Sportive, a challenging cycle taking in some of the most breathtaking roads in the south-east.

Starting and finishing on Duffry Hill, Enniscorthy, which famously hosted the start of a Tour de France stage in 1998, the sportive takes place on June 29, and is open to all forms of cyclists - from the novice to the seasoned pro.

There will be two routes to choose from - the 75 km. 'Little Dragon' route or, for the more ambitious cyclist, the 130 km. 'Big Dragon' route, which takes in the gruelling climb of Mount Leinster.

The sportive is in association with Future Nutrition, makers of the Dragon energy drink. The event is also part of the nationwide SKODA Cycle Series.

With proceeds from the Sportive going towards St Vincent de Paul, the event is sure to be popular, and entries are now open. So now's the time to get that bike out of the garage and get in shape for what is certainly a great cause!
