SHELBOURNE GOT the ideal start in this eagerlyanticipated Under-12 Cup final when Niamh Kehoe sent a well-struck free kick to the roof of the net after just two minutes.
Curracloe found it difficult to settle into the game as Shelbourne did not allow them any room and they struggled to trouble the Shelbourne goal. Sarah Siggins did go close for Curracloe just before half-time but Kate Hendrick saved well to keep the Ballywilliam girls in front.
The second-half saw Shelbourne continue their stylish passing game and they put the game beyond the reach of Curracloe when a very impressive Hannah Keating scored. From then on there was no way back for Curracloe.
Referee Loughlin Rafter brought the game to an end ten minutes later and Shelbourne were presented with the cup while their defender, Kate Murphy, collected the player of the match award.
