Cruel defeat sends All Blacks down
DIVISION 2 awaits All Blacks after the Casey Park side suffered a cruel defeat on Sunday.
Their fate seemed to be sealed when Martin Kinsella and Brian St. Ledger had eased New Ross Town into a 2-0 lead.
But despite the odds being stacked against them, the hosts pulled their sleeves up and clawed Town back to two goals apiece thanks to efforts from Dylan Sparrow and John Codd.
Mick Walsh scuppered Blacks' fairytale comeback though when he headed home the winner deep into stoppage time.
Late goals seemed to be very fashionable in Division 1 last weekend as another one was produced in the meeting of Kilmore United and Rosslare Rangers in Ballyseskin.
Daithí Moore put United ahead but the hosts found themselves trailing by two goals to one as the clock neared 90 minutes. They avoided defeat though thanks to Dave Millar's late leveller.
The chase for league honours saw Park Hotspur make forward strides as the Park Lane club enjoyed a 3-1 success over Division 2-bound Duncannon to maintain their three-point lead at the top of the table.
Curracloe United is the side lurking behind Hotspur and their 2-1 victory over struggling Gorey Celtic kept them in the hunt.
