Drama group hits the road for Festival Circuit

Enniscorthy Drama has returned to the three act circuit following a gap of approximately 15 years as they perform in four festivals around the country over the coming weeks.

The group are taking Tom Murphy's dark tale A Whistle In The Dark to Doonbeg, Co. Clare on Sunday night; Portadown, Co. Armagh on Tuesday night, Ballyduff, Co. Waterford on Wednesday night and Scarriff, Co. Clare on March 23.

This mammoth commitment is indicative of the level of dedication and passion in this young group which only reformed in 2013. Under the Chairmanship of Liam Doyle, the EDG has gone from strength to strength and Enniscorthy can once again boast a drama group to be proud of.

Prior to heading off on this festival marathon the group took to the stage of the iconic Athenaeum last Thursday and Friday for two excellent performances. They were given a rousing send-off, with Minister Paul Kehoe calling backstage after Friday's show to compliment the actors and the fantastic acting and wished them well as they take Enniscorthy drama onwards and upwards.

Enniscorthy Drama are back at the Athenaeum at the end of the month with their new play, the popular Cripple of Inishmaan so make sure you book your tickets early at the Athenaeum to avoid disappointment.
