Water on Rafter Street

KEEPING Rafter Street clean is bringing water on to the floors of local shops. Enniscorthy Town Council cathaoirleach Jackser Owens suggested last week that the practice of spraying the street should not continue during shop opening hours.
'Wrong time of day,' was the chairman's verdict. However, town clerk Padraig O'gorman insisted that the only practical time to conduct the weekly wash was in the mornings between 8a.m. and noon. The exercise usually takes place on a Thursday. Cllr Seán Óg Doyle was critical of the council staff deployed to the task.
