Sporting gardaí to be honoured

TWO GARDAÍ from the district are to be honoured by their colleagues this Friday night at the annual Coiste Siamsa Garda Sportstar Awards.

Both Adam Nolan from Oulart and Josie Dwyer for Ferns will pick up awards for their achievements on both the national and international stage.

Adam, based at Bray Garda Station, did Wexford and Ireland proud at the London Olympics, and has also been nominated for the award in recognition of winning the national welterweight title in both 2011 and 2012. Josie, based in Wicklow, holds three All-Ireland senior camogie medals, having been a key member of the Wexford squads of 2010, 2011 and 2012.
