Resurfacing works for Oylegate to start soon

Sara Gahan at the Enniscorthy Municipal District meeting

After 10 long weeks of often frustratingly long tailbacks, the resurfacing works on the N11 between Scarawalsh and Ferns have been completed, according to senior executive engineer Tadhg O'Corcora.

Mr O'Corcora also reported to the district members that surveying works are now finished for the N11 south of Oylegate and resurfacing will be carried out later this year.

Cllr Kathleen-Codd Nolan requested traffic lights be put at Ballycarney Bridge as she has received complaints from local residents.

Cllr Nolan said: 'People who are not from the area do not know how to use the bridge. Many locals have got stuck on the bridge and have had to reverse because of an on-coming car from the other side. I think if a light was put in place that stopped traffic for 20 seconds it would help.'
