SIGNS claiming that Davidstown School is facing closure because of the low numbers of pupils due to start there in September have appeared outside the school in the village.
The posters, headlined 'Help Save Our School', claim that fewer than 50 students will attend the village school from September.
School principal Dominic O'Sullivan said yesterday (Monday) afternoon he had no comment to make about the posters or who was behind them.
Davidstown businessman and parent Alan O'Connor said a number of issues have been raised with regard to the school and that some parents remain unhappy.
'As of tomorrow evening, a number of parents are pulling their children from the school,' said Mr O'Connor. 'It's a sad state of affairs. I don't know whether it will be resolved or not.'
