THE LORETO secondary school re-opened during the Christmas holidays to hold a prayer service for Aoife which was attended by students, teachers and parents.
All of Aoife's TY class year turned up for the emotional service last Thursday.
The roll call of 120 students in fourth year has been sadly reduced to 119 following her death.
Aoife joined the school in First Year from Piercestown national school and her older sisters Ciara and Orlagh are also former students.
The school service was led by chaplain Fr. Jim Fegan who invited her friends to share personal memories of a much-loved classmate.
Students cried and hugged each other as friends spoke affectionately about Aoife and related some funny school adventures they enjoyed together.
The service which offered students and teachers a chance to collectively mourn Aoife as her school community, was also attended by the principal Billy O'Shea and vice- principal Sr. Carmel.
