Lisa Kavanagh, who is working on a Masters thesis on the archaeological features of the area, gave an informative talk to fourteen people from the parish and others who were interested in the subject.

Librarian Dearbhla Ní Laighin said that people found the talk interesting and informative, and were also delighted to get information on available resources for further study. She said the discussion on local place names was also of great interest.

'Lisa had great photographs, and she was able to give great explanations of what we were looking at,' she said. 'There's a lot more archaeology there than people might realise.'

The talk was facilitated by Amanda Byrne, Gorey Town Clerk, who lives locally. It was listed as a 'The Gathering' event for the parish.
