Joanne is top of the class

Enniscorthy student Joanne Crean returned to her former school last week to accept an award for her outstanding performance in State exams. The daughter of Eddie and Geraldine Crean from Clonhaston, she has now embarked on the pharmacy course at Trinity College in Dublin.

However, she was back at the F.C.J. in Bunclody on Friday to receive a round of applause for having the best results of all her class in the Leaving Certificate of 2004 at the school. The presentation was made following the start of year Mass at the Church of the Most Holy Trinity.

Among the other awards distributed were prizes for the four girls who had the best marks in the Junior Certificate, announced recently. The quartet were Lisa Kavanagh, Maura Kavanagh, Breda Kinsella and Claire Moulds. The academic roll of honour for 2003/2004 included
