A 19-year-old man was discovered with property from three different burglaries at his house when Gardaí carried out a search. Aaron Dunne of 4 St Ronan's Avenue, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 attended the District Court sitting in Gorey last Wednesday to plead guilty to possession of stolen property in August of last year.
The items recovered included a glove stolen in Bunclody and golf clubs taken from a house in Courtown Harbour. It emerged that Dunne had already been convicted of a similar offence at Blanchardstown Court last month.
Judge John Lindsay was told that the Blanchardstown prosecution arose from the same Garda operation. The defending barrister said her client had purchased the stolen goods when he should have known better.
Counsel added that her teenaged client's girlfriend was three months pregnant.
Judge Lindsay ordered court probation staff to prepare a report on the defendant who was told that he could face six months in jail. Pending completion of the report, he was allowed bail and told to obey a nightly curfew from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. He is due back in court on April 17.
