AS THE latest James Bond film pops on screens all over the world, one of his predecessors has been revealed as a big fan of the exclusive Monart Destination Spa on the outskirts of Enniscorthy.
The current incumbent of the 007 role, Daniel Craig, has been far too busy making and promoting 'Skyfall' to relax by the pool at Liam Griffin's upmarket hideaway. However, there have been reliable sightings of Roger Moore staying as a guest in the hotel at The Still.
Moore, now Sir Roger, filled the part of Bond seven times during the period from 1973 to 1985, starting with ' Live and Let Die' and finally handing in his licence to kill after 'A View to a Kill'. However, it is believed that the English actor has clung to elements of his most famous character and may even have ordered himself a martini at the Monart bar.
No doubt, there was no need to direct the well trained staff at the up market establishment that it should be shaken, not stirred. Rumours have circulated in the past that other celebrities such as Madonna and Ali Hewson, wife of Bono, are among those have enjoyed the secluded luxury of the five star Monart Spa on other occasions.
