EMILY ROCHE of Wheelagower, Ballindaggin, appeared before Wexford District Court this week to answer to a string of road traffic charges.

She was charged with driving without an NCT or insurance and failing to produce both having been stopped by Gardaí at Clonard Great on September 24. She also faced charges of driving without tax, insurance and failure to produce insurance when stopped at Ballindaggin on August 11 last. Solicitor Eric Furlong said his client had fallen into financial difficulty and simply couldn't afford to put her car through the NCT.

He said as a result of her financial situation, payments on her insurance had lapsed. Judge Haughton handed down a fine of €200 and a two year driving ban for driving without insurance on August 11 and took the tax into consideration.

For driving without an NCT on September 24, he fined her €100 and for the second charge of driving without insurance, he imposed a two-month prison sentence, suspended for six months.
