Dogs maul 30 sheep

A GLYNN farmer has called on his neighbours to keep their dogs under control after his flock of sheep endured a festive mauling. No less than 30 of his ewes belonging to Seamus Murphy were injured as they grazed in a field away from the public view in Lambstown, probably on December 25.
The 30 casualties were all in lamb and, though they all survived, the grisly episode led to a call out for the vet and some of the wounds still require treatment.
Seamus Murphy fears that there may be a number of stillbirths in the lambing shed come March as a result of the terrifying visit by someone's pets.
