TWO SISTERS appeared before Gorey District Court after one of them crashed the other's car.
Sarah Kane (19) and Amy Kane (22), both of Seascapes, Ardamine, were before the court.
Sarah Kane faced charges of driving without insurance, failing to produce insurance, driving without a driving licence and using a vehicle without an NCT at Seascapes, Ardamine, Courtown Harbour on April 11, 2012.
Amy Kane was charged with allowing her car to be driven without insurance.
Inspector Pat McDonald said at 6.35pm on the day in question, Sarah Kane crashed a blue BMW in the estate and admitted she had no insurance.
There was also no valid NCT certificate cert on the car, which was owned by her sister Amy.
Sarah Kane told Judge Gerard Haughton she was sorry for her actions on the day saying 'I shouldn't have done it, it was irresponsible'.
Amy Kane told Judge Haughton: 'I was irresponsible for letting her do it.'
In respect of the insurance charges Judge Haughton fined them €300 each, endorsed their licence and put them off the road for two years.
He marked the other matters against Sarah Kane proven and taken into account.
