Cllr Browne fills vacated spot on insurance board

Former town clerk Donal Minnock has stepped down from the board of the Irish Public Bodies Mutual Insurances company, to be replaced by Cllr James Browne.

 Current town clerk David Minogue confirmed that his predecessor, who retired from public service in 2006, had tendered his resignation from the board. Keith Doyle nominated his Fianna Fáil colleague James Browne to fill the vacancy, seconded by Fine Gael's Paddy Kavanagh and approved without any need for a vote.
