Business leaders at IBEC seminar
IBEC, the group that represents Irish business, hosted a seminar at the Tower Hotel, Waterford, addressed by key business leaders from the region.
The event, which took place last week, set out key priorities to drive growth and job creation, including the need to invest in the road and energy network.
It also looked at the important role that a Technological Institute for the South East can play in supporting economic development.
Speakers at the event, sponsored by Electric Ireland, included: Anne Marie Caulfield, Director Caulfield McCarthy Group (SuperValu Franchises) and Ibec Regional President; Fidelma McGuirk, CEO, Taxback; Andy Crowley, CEO, Teva; and John Lynch, General Manager Rosslare Europort.Speaking at the event, Ibec CEO Danny McCoy said: 'Education is central to the long-term future success of the region. The move to establish a Technological Institute for the South East is key and has the potential to be a game changer.'
