THE DOORS to the legendary Adamstown Ballroom will be opened once more for a night of music and dancing this Christmas.
Following the success of last year's Nostalgia Night, Adamstown GAA Club has decided to host another night of entertainment.
This year one of Ireland's leading entertainers Declan Nerney, will be appearing on stage in the renowned Adamstown Ballroom on Sunday, December 30 with support from Wexford's own Theresa and The Stars.
Last year hundreds packed into the ballroom to see The Indians, one of the country's leading showbands, and Theresa and The Stars on New Year's Day.
Adamstown GAA Club are hoping that those who enjoyed the dance so much last year will come out in such great numbers again this year.
For many, last year's dance evoked many fond memories of times past in the famous venue while for many more it was the first time they tread the boards of Adamstown Ballroom.
During its heydays of the 1960s, 70s, and early 80s, the Adamstown ballroom was one of the biggest and most popular venues on the south-eastern circuit.
Making their way to Adamstown by car, bike, or whatever other means of transport they had, thousands regularly descended on the village to see the legends of the showband era such as the Bowyer Band, Dickie Rock, Joe Dolan, Larry Cunningham, Big Tom, and many more.
The ballroom even played host to two of the most famous Eurovision winners of days gone by: our own Dana, and Sandie Shaw, who won for the UK with 'Puppet on a String'.
