ENNISCORTHY Town Council is set to spend more than €70,000 during the year 2013 on new windows and doors for its housing stock.
The programme of improvements will benefit tenants in Vinegar Hill Villas, Pearse Road, Andy Doyle Close and Rectory Field. Council engineer Mark Collins informed councillors that most of the 14 houses set for improvement have old style single glazing at present. In other cases, window frames are no longer sealed properly, causing dampness. It is expected that contractors will begin work early in the new year.
