A GOREY car sales and repairs agent settled with Revenue for over €300,000 in the first quarter of this year.

David James, Arklow Road, Gorey, settled for €304, 575, in an underdeclaration of Capital Gains Tax Revenue Audit Case. The long-established Gorey car dealer incurred a bill of €210,366 for tax owed; as well as €31,100 in interest, and €63,109 in penalties.

Revenue last week published the list of settlements made with tax defaulters between January 1 and March 31 this year.

Also on the list from Co. Wexford was farmer Myles Fenlon from Balycarrigeen Upper, Ferns, who made a settlement totalling €39,563. This underdeclaration of income tax Revenue Audit Case, included €25,175 in tax owed; €6,835 interest owed; and €7,553 penalties.
